Touchdown

When the Lancaster family saw an announcement about the 2019 Houston Texans Training Camp, they knew they wanted to attend. They each signed up in hopes of obtaining the hard-to-get tickets. No such luck, at first. But then Gavin and Grayson received the notification that they scored tickets, which was especially exciting because it was to be held on brother Griff’s 20th birthday. The Lancaster family are all football fans – usually cheering on the Texans from home with buffalo wings in tow – and Griff is a huge sports fan who collects autographs and memorabilia. The night before training camp, the boys worked hard on creating a poster (“They worked harder on this than on their homecoming posters!” laughed mom Meg), and then, true to their word, they woke up at 4 a.m. to stand in line with hundreds of other fans. They were excited when the president of the Texans, Jamey Rootes, surprised some fans waiting in line with Shipley’s donuts. Throughout the day, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and spirit as fans watched the team kick off football season with training sessions along with appearances from the Texans cheerleaders, Texans Ambassadors and mascot Toro, plus a live band and an opportunity to get autographs signed.
