Event Roundup: What to Look Forward to This Weekend

We’ve rounded up some of this weekend’s happenings. Be sure to check the event websites for any changes due to weather. 

Karbachtoberfest
It’s that time of year again! This weekend marks the beginning of the German festival, Oktoberfest. Come out to Karbach Brewery to celebrate “Karbachtoberfest” with a cold glass of beer, live music, wiener dog races and more. 

Houston Astros v Los Angeles Angels 
Cheer on the ’Stros in their last set of home games before playoffs. This weekend, they challenge the Los Angeles Angels in a three-game series, starting Friday at 7:10 p.m. and continuing Saturday at 6:10 p.m. and Sunday at 1:10 p.m. This weekend also marks the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month at Minute Maid Park. With your game ticket, you can enjoy a special street festival with live music, food trucks, yard games and more. 

PLAY 60 at the Park
Join the Houston Texans and Texas Children's Hospital at Evelyn's Park Conservancy on Saturday for a morning of fun-filled events celebrating all things PLAY 60! As part of the PLAY 60 movement, Texas Children’s Hospital and the Houston Texans are challenging kids of all ages and abilities to be active at least 60 minutes every day. 

Polish Harvest Festival
Enjoy all things Polish - food, music, beer and art- at this year’s Polish Harvest Festival, happening all weekend long. Houston’s Polish community hosts this annual event, bringing traditional food, drink and entertainment to the Houston community. 

Texas Hot Sauce Festival 
Prepare to try all kinds of hot sauce, salsa, dips, peppers, spices, marinades and rubs at the 20th annual Texas Hot Sauce Festival. There will be hundreds of hot and spicy products from around the country, plus ongoing stage entertainment. There’s a children’s area to keep your kiddos entertained! 

Tacoworld!
Stop by the Navigation Esplanade on Saturday for Tacoworld, a taco festival featuring Houston’s top taco chefs and restaurants. Enjoy a variety of foods and drinks a la carte style (pay as you go) while enjoying live music. 

Flea by Night
Visit Discovery Green on Saturday evening for this month’s flea market, featuring an array of artful kitsch, vintage item as well as recycled and repurposed items by local artisans and designers.
