Entering as a new student at a school may be challenging to some. Here are some extra pushers to help you get involved into Bellaire High School! This very diverse school consists of about 3,499 as the student body. These numbers seem very realistic with the new faces I have seen every day since my time starting at Bellaire. With these different faces comes many personalities.
First, I recommend getting to know some students around campus by joining a club! Bellaire is home to about 100 clubs; they range from socials, sports, education/ learning events, volunteering and acting. Here are a couple of clubs I recommend:
Film Society: “A club where anyone can get together and watch, talk about, and make movies. We will have two types of meetings, one for creating and one for watching,” says the president, Laila Fahed.
Red Bird Productions: This club and company requires an audition, but don’t let that stop you from joining. Students take on many responsibilities regarding putting on theatre productions. And yes, technical students are included in this company
Laila Fahed is president of the Film Society Club at Bellaire High School.

Secondly, this may get overlooked for some students, but simply offering to help other classmates with their assignments will be helpful. Students can offer to tutor students in their class or students in lower level classes. This is a great way to meet new people and gain knowledge yourself.
Lastly, get involved at Bellaire High School by participating in volunteer events. Even if you’re not in a club, opportunities still pop up every now and then. For instance, volunteer for fundraising events for sports.
This is the time of year to join clubs, remind classes, email lists, and follow other social media platforms that help you connect and learn about your community!
