Friends including Belinda Rowell, Miranda Sevcik and Suzanne Williams (pictured, from left) started a lifestyle blog for women 40 and older.

A group of Buzz neighbors who manage a lifestyle blog together called Let’s Grow Girl, including Belinda Rowell, Miranda Sevcik and Suzanne Williams, recently gathered at Houston Polo Club for one of their regular meet ups. The three women first met more than 20 years ago from a bunco group and have retained their friendships.

Although it was a “monsoon-like” Houston day, the polo match went on as scheduled once the rain tapered off and the group of girlfriends enjoyed food, wine and conversations. Each month, 17 or so of their friends get together for dinner, dancing, crafting, exercising and more.

A couple of years ago, Belinda, Miranda and Suzanne had the idea to start their women’s lifestyle blog. The blog is for the 40 and up age category, as they saw a void for this age group. The three moms cover everything from health, beauty, travel, Houston, to their in-person meet ups. Each of the three women bring their interests, talents and experiences to life to create the content for the blog.

“We love the opportunity to meet new people we wouldn’t ordinarily have crossed paths with any other way,” said Suzanne, a former accountant.

Belinda's favorite post so far was titled Don’t Be Afraid of the Camera, You are Beautiful at Any Age. She says it is the epitome of their message to support and encourage other women and celebrate discovering themselves along the way, too.

“Many of us have raised our kids, helped our ailing parents, held down busy career lives to pay the bills and now what, [we are supposed to] sit on the couch?,” she said. “It is our time to discover ourselves. Aging is a beautiful thing.”
