As students start their new year at British International School of Houston, they begin to adjust back into the school day curriculum. However, the students’ memories of summer live on inter-nally.
So, what did the students of BISH do over the summer? I spoke with a handful of seniors at Brit-ish International School to hear of the fun that they had over the summer of 2019.
Freya Scott, senior at British International School, recollects on her summer and thinks back to pleasantly chaotic times traveling in an RV with her close family: “I traveled in an RV over the summer to the West side of the US to visit great sites, such as Yellowstone, Zion National Park, and the Grand Canyon. I liked this trip, because I loved seeing the picturesque scenery outside the small RV window constantly changing.” As a British citizen, Freya’s trip helped her to connect and truly feel the presence within exquisite parts of the country that she would not have been able to do by reading a Fodor’s travel book or Rick Steves’ chronicle.
Like Freya, Sanaa Shaikh, senior at British international School of Houston also had an exciting summer, of study. She said, “I went to a program at Cornell University and spent time with my family.” A great way to spend the summer: preparing for the future while keeping times open for family bonding.
Numerous other seniors focused on educational programs, internships, and, of course, relaxation!
