Summer Travel with an RV
This summer, I knew I had to get my head down to work. Travelling in an RV when doing the work would be hard, but doable if I planned. I started summer with essays, topics and activities to do - yet, oddly enough, I found myself enjoying the work - all because of the scenery.
While in the RV, I visited six states, all differing in geography and monuments. However, amongst the many, many, sights visited, some stood out to me as being above the rest. Thus, this article ranks the top five US sights to see in summer.
5. Bearizonia Wildlife Park, AZ
Full of wildlife, with at least 15 different animals such as bears, bison, wolves. You can initially drive through the park, with the animals all around you, which is then transmuted into a normal zoo. The variety of wildlife in each state is fantastic, and especially so for Arizona
4. Estes Park, CO
A national park with long, winding roads and many deer. I’d recommend booking a tour, because the guides will know how best to spot the animal’s camouflage against the scenery. Surrounded by mountains that cast beautiful shadows over the park.
3. Tucson National Park, AZ
This is the place you should go if you want to see the famous Saguaro Cacti in their hundreds - particularly in the morning, with the rising sun framing the cacti. Just be careful not to get stabbed by the cacti’s spines or bitten by the fleas!
2. Zion National Park, UT
Zion National Park hosts beautiful rock formations and plateaus, although unfortunately I couldn’t get out of the car to experience it more fully, stealing it from the top spot on the list.
1. Wilson, ID
The mountains in Wilson have a variety of flora, although I didn’t see much fauna - however, the absolutely stunning views both up close and far away make up for it. Additionally, nearly every pull-over you make has a hiking trail attached to it, which I took advantage of to take the photo.
The US is vast and I’m sure there are many more sights I could have seen (considering I went mainly North from Texas) – but all in all, travelling with an RV across the US was an excellent way to unwind from the demands of high school.
