Mrs. Mallard (Photo: Kylie Baker)
Hi. My name is Mrs. Mallard, and I live on a secluded pond in the beautiful Memorial area, with squirrels romping around and a rabbit sculpture nearby. I used to have a sord (a group of mallard ducks) with me, but one day, a hawk found my other companions, and it turned into a tragedy. The good news is that I’m going to have ducklings soon! It takes only only 30 days for us ducks to gestate, so by the time you are reading this, I may have 1 to 13 ducklings to hang out with. They’ll be able to swim right away, but it takes 60 days to fly. I eat worms and bugs, of which there are plenty around here, and occasionally, the owner of the house feeds me some special, duckworthy treats. I love company and am very talkative. Neighbors can hear me quacking up a storm, talking to the wind.
