Sweet day
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston partnered with the Lemonade Day nonprofit to hold “Lemonade Day” to promote entrepreneurship and financial education. The event was held at the Holthouse Club with guest Michael Holthouse (pictured, with young entrepreneurs on Lemonade Day), a businessman and philanthropist, BGCGH board member and founder of Lemonade Day. More than 10 Club members set up shop under tents, selling two types of lemonade – “Soaring Rocket” and “Sour Power” – for $1.50 each. These flavors were named in honor of the Houston Rockets, a long-time partner. The sales netted $385, which will be used for an international festival. Mascots Lemmy from Lemonade Day and Blue from BGCGH joined in on the fun, along with president and CEO Kevin Hattery and Lemonade Day city director Gaye Jackson.
