More than 1,000 supporters tuned in for Children’s Museum Houston’s “A Marvelous Night” virtual gala, which raised more than $700,000. It was co-chaired by Geoffrey Bracken, Steve Daniel, Pamela Joubert Davis, Jason Endecott, William Griffin, Dr. Catherine Horn, Brad Morgan, Dr. Robert McCallister, Linda Nunnery, Charlene Pate, Jeffrey Scofield, Sebastien Solar, Saul Solomon and William J. Toomey II. The event featured a comic book-style narration spotlighting “superheroes” who enable the museum to serve Houston’s children. Spotted were figures such as Wonder Woman, Thor and even Dr. Birx and Dr. Fauci (played by Virginia and Lee Lahourcade). Hosted by Deborah Duncan and Ernie Manouse, the virtual gala was live streamed, and participants could bid on auction items from home. One highlight was a video of children expressing their gratitude, played to the tune of “Happy” by Pharrell.
