Harvest luncheon at home
More than 500 gathered virtually for the 12th Annual Harvest Luncheon in support of the nonprofit Kids’ Meals. Emcee and “spokeskid” Jojo Regina conducted a lively tour showing guests the Kids’ Meal process, starting in the kitchen. While watching, table hosts and lead underwriters were treated to chef-prepared meals by Click Virtual Food Hall. Kids’ Meals recognized volunteers John Day, Randee Rothmann, Betsy Torn, Kari Krause and Kent Keith. During the pandemic, volunteers made it possible to feed more than 7,500 children a day. Luncheon chair was Melissa DeAyala. The event helped raise $200,000, which will go toward making and delivering meals to kids under 6 who don’t have access to school-based meal programs. Kids’ Meals delivers five weekly meals to children across 43 Houston-area zip codes and offers resources, books, holiday gifts and connections to services. Pictured are (from left) Wendi Orlando, Sunny Harowitz, Randee Rothmann and Pat Chanon enjoying lunch and the event together.
