For love of reading
Alina Farshadi (pictured) participated in West University Elementary School’s virtual book fair from the comfort of her canopied bed. The book fair was a fundraiser to benefit the school library. Students were able to purchase books from Brazos Bookstore, with grade-level reading recommendations from the Houston Area Independent Schools Library Network and the Brazos Bookstore staff. The school’s book fair is usually held in person with crafts, a scavenger hunt, and guest readers. This year’s virtual event was a hit among students, who were excited to participate in the socially distanced format.
