Vaccine volunteers
Bob and Pegi Newhouse (pictured, from left) volunteered to help with Covid-19 vaccine distribution at Minute Maid Park. They signed up to work a 12-hour shift as members of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where Pegi works as director of internal communications. The couple helped manage the flow of patients through the line to reach the nurses and receive their vaccine. Pegi says the experience of witnessing doctors, nurses, firefighters, and EMTs from all over the city working together was both fulfilling and heart-warming.
