Name that book
West U Elementary School’s K-2nd grade and 3rd-5th grade “Name That Book” teams won first place in the district-wide competition. Students read the 25 books on the NTB list to prepare; during competition, random quotes are read from the books, and team members must discuss amongst themselves and identify the book where the quotes came from before time runs out. The teams practiced for almost six months, qualified for the finals, and took home the gold. Members of the K-2nd team are Ryan Atha, Isabella Chen, Zoya Jethani, Nandini Kapoor, George Linqin, Ritvika Mohanty, Mason Grahmann, and coach Laura Atha. Members of the 3rd-5th team are (pictured, from left) Toby Yip, Sophia Kim, Emeka Ndefo, Clement Ding, Kenenna Ndefo, Sam Atha, and (not pictured) Henry Friedman, and coach Uche Ndefo. Librarian Melissa McMillan is the teacher sponsor.
