Angel
I turned 16 in February. That’s pretty old in dog years, but I looked great for my age. My eyes weren’t so good, especially at night. I went out the doggie door early one morning, but I got stuck outside. Finally, at 3:30 a.m., my human rescued me and laid down on the couch with me. She was suddenly disturbed when she felt a creature on me! I heard words like “rat” and “mouse.” The tiny creature was finally pulled off me. We discovered it was a baby opossum that had attached itself to my side thinking I was his mom. A few months later, I was feeling like my body was giving out and found a nice resting place under some beautiful red amaryllis flowers outside. I decided it was a good place to go to sleep forever. The baby opossum and I might meet up again on the other side and have a good laugh about a scary night for both of us.
