Supporting animals in Bellaire

This summer, Girl Scouts Freddie Vaughan (on left) and Lily Goodwin (on right) completed their Bronze Award by supporting the Bellaire Pound. After working with Bellaire Animal Control Officer Richard Perez (in back) and Rebecca Newton and Katie Snezhkova with Friends of the Bellaire Pound, the Scouts decided a picnic bench would be helpful for when potential adopters come to visit and for volunteers to have a space to use while taking care of the dogs. They also held a treat, leash, and dog-collar donation drive. Lily, a sixth grader at Pin Oak Middle School, and Freddie, a sixth grader at Pershing Middle School, are members of IRG Troop 314471; they became friends while at Horn Elementary.
