A beautiful day
More than 30 volunteers from Meyerland Performing & Visual Arts Middle School (pictured), including National Junior Honors Society student members, PTO leaders, teachers, and principal Auden Sarabia, worked together on campus for a beautification day. They trimmed, replanted, sawed, and power-washed for over three hours to transform the front of the school and its two courtyards. Tools were provided by the Houston Tool Bank, the Shipley Do-Nuts on South Post Oak provided snacks and coffee, and Tree Arts hauled away the accumulated debris. Sarabia said the experience felt like “chicken soup for the principal’s soul.” The PTO plans to have beautification days twice yearly.
