Thanksgiving is the celebration of families coming together and sharing their blessings with those in need. This Thanksgiving, the CVHS family truly emulated and embodied these same values.
CVHS students, staff, and the local community joined together to promote this Thanksgiving spirit through the Commit for Life program. Thirty-two CVHS students and staff gave blood donations to the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center; the impact and success of this initiative was immense, as just one donation can save up to three lives!
CVHS also partnered with the Star Of Hope in a successful initiative, donating 55 warm garments and 130 sanitary goods to help our homeless population.
In addition, the CVHS PTO helped out by providing Thanksgiving hampers for CVHS families that were in need. Certain families at CHVS have experienced hard times because of COVID-19 and social isolation, so the PTO stepped in to make their Thanksgiving a little more memorable.
To top it all off, HISD nutrition services organized a barbecue for students and employees. This is one of the many ways CVHS has demonstrated how much they really cherish every student and staff member at our school.
As a freshman, I truly appreciate the community and family that CVHS has to offer, as evident by the commitment to providing those with a means for a greater life through the Thanksgiving spirit.
