Houston Reads Day
Nonprofit Literacy Now is hosting Houston Reads Day March 2. More than 650 volunteers are set to read to a total of 14,000 pre-K through third-grade students at 40 schools. Co-chairs are Anna and Fred Charlton (they were also co-chairs of the 2021 Houston Reads Day, which was a virtual event). Fred has been a board member since 2019, Anna has served on the Guild for the last three years, and their children, Fiona, Charlotte, Sophie, and Chip, volunteer frequently. Pictured are Anna with Fiona and Charlotte, volunteering toward Literacy Now efforts. See literacynowhouston.org or call 713-584-0161.
