Kid-coached basketball champs

Fifth-grade boys from Bunker Hill Elementary, First Baptist Academy, and Western Academy (pictured) won the Westchester Summer Basketball League (WSBL) championship. The boys coached themselves, without any assistance from parents, through 10 regular-season games and the championship tournament. The Bunker Hill-area team defeated the Frostwood Elementary team in the first playoff game, and then faced the Valley Oaks Elementary team in the championship game.
