Mmm…cookies

Michael Casey, Dennis Yanta, and Kim Salls (pictured, back row, from left); and Carmen Clarke, Joann Roach, Sarah Lopez, and Barbara Bishop (bottom row, from left) enjoyed the St. Anne Catholic Church’s inaugural Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition, organized by Coordinator of Faith Formation and Liturgy Mark Thomas. Families came out to support the 19 competitors of all ages. Parishioners gathered to enjoy the creative displays, taste the delicious cookies, and vote for the Congregation’s Choice winner. Celebrity judges included Rev. Eduardo Rivera, CSB, Parochial Vicar, who has a discerning palate for sweets, Joan O’Leary, Pastoral Assistant, knowledgeable of all things St. Anne Catholic Community and a master baker, Nash D’Amico, longtime parishioner and proprietor of D’Amico’s Italian Market Café, and Drake Leonards, St. Anne School parent and Executive Chef-Partner of Eunice. The big winners are: Michael Casey (judges’ champion), Congregation’s Choice Award: Kristen Kozel (congregation’s choice), Carmen Clarke (best presentation), and James Davis (most original).
