Blue-ribbon winner
The U.S. Department of Education has recognized St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School as an Exemplary High Performing School among National Blue Ribbon Schools. St. Vincent’s is one of 24 private schools in the nation to receive the award this year. The national program recognizes schools with students who demonstrate extremely high academic achievement, including scoring in the top 15 percent in the nation in reading and mathematics as measured by a nationally normed test. Schools are eligible to apply for the award every five years, and St. Vincent’s previously earned the honor in 2016. Principal Carolyn Sears, vice principal Scott Kloesel, librarian Kathy Zimbaldi, and Monsignor Bill Young will accept the award this month in Washington, D.C. Pictured from left are St. Vincent students Bradley Collins, Audrey Tam, Nkechi Okoye, Olivia Bourg, and Ines Aldave Chacon.
