Myrtle Lee Nelson-Hughes' birthday

The Bellaire High School (BHS) Class of 1972 had a very special guest at their 50th reunion. Former BHS principal Myrtle Lee Nelson-Hughes was honored by her former students in advance of her upcoming 100th birthday. The beloved principal was surrounded by more than 200 guests at the Briar Club for the Saturday night event of the reunion weekend. The centenarian worked at BHS for 30 years, from 1959 to 1990, in the roles of principal, assistant principal, counselor, economics teacher, and sponsor of the Bellaire Belles drill team.
