Parishioners Will Elting, Charlotte Marchesseau, and David Hoffman (pictured, from left, with their dogs, papillons Sonny, Louie, and Mason, three-legged rescue poodle Pepper, and Australian shepherd/border collie mix Hallie) were blessed along with the canine bunch at the St. Martin’s Episcopal Church annual Blessing of the Animals. The humans credit the pups for “herding” them to church for the special occasion. In honor of the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, St. Martin’s Clergy blessed family pets of all kinds with a special service dedicated to all creatures great and small.
