Platinum jubilee

Spring Branch Presbyterian Church (SBPC) celebrated its 70th anniversary with a platinum jubilee. In addition to the congregation’s milestone, it is also the 70th anniversary of the church’s Boy Scout Troop 478 and the 50th anniversary of the church’s Academy Day Care. Back in 1952, SBPC held its first worship service at the Dad’s Club on Voss Road with a congregation of 72 members, before purchasing land in Campbell Place, its current location. To celebrate the worthy occasion, SBPC dedicated two days for a Jubilee Festival, special worship service, and a catered lunch. A highlight of the weekend was when SBPC’s Pastor Kevin Boyd and The Academy’s director Renee Henry (pictured) dedicated the new $200,000 playground.
