Deep roots
More than 425 tree-loving Houstonians celebrated 40 years of Trees for Houston at the annual Root Ball. Blaine Larson, Katharine Larson, Andrew Dickerman, Erin Dickerman, Alyssa Davis, Luke Davis, Randi Koenig, Jeff Koenig, Bobby Sawicki, Mariel Sawicki, Debbie Gregg and Rudeina Baasiri joined other guests to support efforts to plant, protect, and promote trees throughout Greater Houston. Board member David R. Graham was honored for his involvement in the organization’s success in planting nearly 800,000 trees. Guests were welcomed with blackberry crostini and crab cake appetizers, and a signature cocktail “The Tree Breeze,” before being entertained by the Tin Man Band. At the end of the evening, guests received a birdseed ornament as a party favor. The successful event raised $520,000.
