Cross-country bike trek

Roosh Bhosale, a 2023 graduate of The University of Texas and 2019 graduate of St. John’s School, brought his UT cycling teammates home for a night during their cross-country ride with Texas 4000, an organization that brings together student leaders in a fundraising effort to fight cancer. Biking from Austin to Anchorage, AK, the cyclists will log more than 4000 miles along the Ozarks route, stopping in a different city each night where they are hosted by fellow cancer-research supporters. When the bikers arrived in Houston, they met with physicians at MD Anderson and Texas Children’s Hospital. Texas 4000 supports both hospitals, with financial contributions to fund cancer research. They were treated to dinner and a place to sleep at the Bhosale home, before getting back on their bikes early the next morning. The Texas 4000 riders train for 18 months before beginning their journey, and each is dedicated to riding in honor of someone who has had cancer. The riders are (top row, from left): Sam Stafford, Elizabeth Warren, Neeraj Akula, Roosh Bhosale, Sara Kim; (middle row, from left): Maddie Fink, Rachel Williams, Elice Shin, Shikha Lakhi, Rachel Pierron, Esther Wang, Olivia Flaming, Julia Krebs, Elizabeth Warren, Felicity Hung; (bottom row, from left): Ari Hosek, Angelica Montes, Lillian Do, Eve Dauber, Matt Winningham, Alicia Rusthoven, and Stephanie Cho.
