For the animals

Twins Tena Lundquist Faust and Tama Lundquist, co-presidents of nonprofit Houston PetSet (pictured, from left), premiered their documentary For the Animals: A Dogumentary. The producers’ 73-minute film covers the reality of animal overpopulation, abuse, and neglect in Greater Houston and proposes solutions with support from community leaders and elected officials. Filmmakers Sadhvi Siddhali Shree and Sadhvi Anubhuti, who are both Jain Monks, created the film from the perspective of people working in animal welfare. Sisters Tena and Tama hope to attract national resources to support their efforts, with movie proceeds funding spay and neuter programs for Houston’s animals.
