World-class ballroom dancer

Adyson Preston (pictured, at right), a seventh-grade student at Presbyterian School, and competitive ballroom dancer, recently competed in the Houston Dance Classic. She was invited to train under Shirley Ballas, nicknamed the Queen of Latin Ballroom, out of the United Kingdom. Adyson’s coaches, Natia Kuprava and Viktor Shumylo (pictured, at left), are both world Latin Ballroom champions and relocated from Los Angeles to Houston to train Adyson and other ballroom dancing students at The Dance Barre HTX. Since Adyson has been training under their leadership, she has won many ballroom dancing competitions including ProAm Full Silver J1 International Latin Multi Dance Event, ProAm Full Gold J1 International Latin Multi Dance Event, American Open DanceSport Championship, ProAm Closed Silver Championship, and ProAm Closed Silver Scholarship.
