Chinquapin roots run deep

Sherwood Gil and Susan Walker (pictured, from left) celebrated with nearly 400 other guests, including 70 alumni, at the Chinquapin Preparatory School’s spring gala. The Roots Run Deep event was held at The Revaire and was chaired by a large group of Chinquapin alumni and their spouses. Mily Pérez, the school’s first alumna director, spoke to the crowd and gave a special tribute to supporters of the school, which provides educational opportunities to low-income students. Special guests Bruce Longaker, Steve McCarthy, Peter Morris, Tricia and Alan Ratliff, and Paul Teten were honored for their ongoing support of Chinquapin students and alumni.
