Quiz bowl glory
T.H. Rogers School’s Quiz Bowl A-Team (pictured) had a great run at the national tournament. The National Academic Quiz Tournament’s (NAQT) middle school championship tournament, held at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare Hotel in Chicago, gathers the top quiz bowl teams from around the country to compete against each other. T.H. Rogers’ teams are no strangers to the national competition, and this year a group of eighth graders placed 13th out of 160 teams in the nation. They finished ahead of other Houston teams, including St. John’s School, Annunciation Orthodox School, and St. Thomas’ Episcopal School. The quiz bowl A-Team includes (from left): Logan Sazykin, Victor Sazykin, Sean Boyle, Leonidas Boukas, and Long Nguyen.
