Helping after Beryl
Luke Carl, Jackson Holtz, Jack Henry Carl, and Luke Tamez (pictured, from left) wasted no time helping neighbors clean up after Hurricane Beryl. The Stratford High School students were a welcome sight for neighbors in Wilchester, Nottingham, Frostwood, Spring Valley, and other Memorial areas who were dealing with piled-high debris after the storm. Going door to door, the boys spotted pile after pile of downed trees, branches, and other Beryl aftermath and offered their assistance to clear yards and sidewalks. Over a four-day period, the high schoolers (aka neighborhood heroes) covered about 30 houses and carried away yard trash in a rented trailer.
