Nicole Anderson

Buzz resident Nicole Anderson recently read and enjoyed The Last One at the Wedding by Jason Rekulak.

This week, I interviewed Buzz resident Nicole Anderson about what she has read recently and loved. She selected The Last One at the Wedding by Jason Rekulak. As the book opens, Frank Szatowski is shocked when his daughter, Maggie, calls him for the first time in three years. He’s even more surprised when she invites him to her upcoming wedding in New Hampshire.

He arrives to find that the wedding is at a private estate – very secluded and very luxurious. It seems that Maggie failed to mention that she’s marrying Aidan Gardner, the son of a famous tech billionaire. Feeling desperately out of place, Frank focuses on reconnecting with Maggie and getting to know her new family. But it’s difficult: Aidan is withdrawn and evasive; Maggie doesn’t seem to have time for him; and he finds that the locals are disturbingly hostile to the Gardners. Frank needs to know more about this family his daughter is marrying into, but if he pushes too hard, he could lose Maggie forever.

Thriller writer extraordinaire Riley Sager raves about The Last One at the Wedding: “Part conspiracy thriller, part family drama, The Last One at the Wedding kept my heart racing and my mind reeling.”

Here is what Nicole has to say about it:

What is the best book you have read recently?

The Last One at the Wedding by Jason Rekulak.

What did you like about it? What made it stand out to you?

This book is one of the first I have read and enjoyed from a male perspective. He is a loving, caring dad just wanting the best for his daughter. She offers him a chance to join in her wedding weekend, walk her down the aisle, and all he wants to do is protect her, but he has a moral high ground that he adheres to and always wants to do what is right.

How did you learn about the book?

I heard about his book on a blog and immediately got a copy. Lately many books I’m reading are set around weddings. It seems to be a popular setting in recent books released. I love weddings so it’s always a draw for me because of the drama!

What are you reading now?

I’m starting Lies and Weddings by Kevin Kwan (New York Times best-selling author of Crazy Rich Asians and the next book for my book club in two weeks) and The Paris Gown by Christine Wells.

I would love to hear what you are reading! Feel free to drop it in the comments below.
