An amazing evening for brain health
The 2024 annual dinner for Amazing Place raised more than $800,000 to fund dementia and brain-health services and education. Supporters Mike and Laurie Moody, David and Susan Light, Mano DeAyala, David and Carolyn Light, Melissa DeAyala, Courtney Robertson, Elizabeth and John Batton, and Susan and Mike Padon were among more than 450 guests at The Revaire for the event chaired by Melissa and Mano DeAyala, Courtney and James Robertson, Elizabeth and John Batton, and Susan and David Light. Following an opening reception, guests listened to Meliza Gómez sing Amazing Grace, followed by an invocation by Dr. Alf Halvorson, senior pastor, Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church. Amazing Place executive director Tracey Brown shared details about how the organization has evolved to meet the needs of our community for almost 29 years as the number of dementia diagnoses has skyrocketed. The faith-based organization plans to open its second campus in Katy in spring 2025.
