Donna Wotkyns, Lin Espey, Kim Bergen, Jen EspeyLisa DescantMatt Garcia-Prats, Pat Rosenberg, and Shubhra Endley enjoyed an evening at The Pit Room in Montrose to support Communities In Schools of Houston (CIS). The Brighter Futures BBQ welcomed more than 100 guests who raised more than $75,000 to support at-risk students in Greater Houston. Funding ensures each partner campus has a full-time CIS student support specialist available to provide counseling and academic support. Guests enjoyed music, a silent auction, drinks, and a family-style spread of chicken, ribs, brisket, mac n’ cheese, potato salad, and spicy green beans with all the fixings. The Pit Room owners Michael Sambrooks and David Sambrooks, a CIS board member, donated proceeds from all meals purchased the day of the event to CIS.
