Fri., Sept. 26-Fri., Oct. 31, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (last entry at 4 p.m.). Zoo Boo Extended Hours, in which the Zoo will close at 9:30 p.m., with last entry at 8 p.m., are Sept. 26, Oct. 3, 10, 17-19, 23-24, and 26-30.

Today is opening day for the popular, family-friendly Houston Zoo Boo. Wear your costumes and enjoy fun autumn-themed photo ops including a 15-foot-tall fall foliage arch, Ghost Town, a pumpkin tunnel, a new spooky, immersive display at Galapagos Islands, and more.

Starting this Saturday, Children's Museum Houston will be transformed into the BOOseum! The BOOseum offers a plethora of spooktacular events and activities all month long. Safe trick-or-treating takes place Thursdays, 4-8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Halloween! This Saturday, look forward to "Shaky Knees Stories" including Express Children Theatre's spin on Hansel & Gretel; games to help you create spilly, spooky stories, crafts, storytime, and more.

Houston Arboretum's family-friendly Bat Fest returns this weekend. Though often misunderstood, bats are a vital part of our ecosystem. Join the Houston Arboretum and its community partners to learn more about local bat species and current conservation efforts to help mitigate bat populations' decline. here will be fun bat-themed activities and crafts for the kids, story time, food trucks, and a blood drive with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center.

It includes performances from both internationally recognized and local award-nominated artists, carefully selected to highlight emerging talents aged 13 and older.
