HC Mustangs Take the Stage

As the first semester of the school year comes to an end, HC Theaterworks’ very own production of High School Musical wraps up as well. With countless hours of rehearsals, HC had run High School Musical for two weekends, which included a varsity that performed 6 times and a JV cast that performed twice. HC’s High School Musical production had also set a new record, as all the tickets to the show were sold out within two days of going on sale. Director Dr. Bobby Linhart even stated, “I have never seen anything like this before. The impact that this show and cast have on our city is remarkable!” The overwhelming community response not only highlighted the popularity of the show but also showcased how much the arts mean to students, families, and supporters across campus.
HC’s tight community and family-like bond were clear as students contributed towards selling concessions or showing up to support their friends. Many credited the cast and crew for their hard work and resilience, knowing the time commitment and dedication required to produce an excellent show. Delightful remarks were also made towards the JV Cast, as junior Audrey Jean said that “the young cast expressed constant vibrant energy and continued to make the audience happy!” Moments like these reflected the enthusiasm that surrounded every performance, proving how committed everyone was to creating a memorable experience for all who attended.
With High School Musical officially wrapped, HC Theaterworks is already setting its sights on the next big adventure: Anastasia, coming this winter. With a story rooted in history, magic, and identity, the production promises to bring a completely different tone and artistic challenge to the stage. Students have already begun buzzing with excitement, anticipating how the cast will bring Russia’s royal mystery to life. Rehearsals, costumes, and early design plans are already becoming a frequent topic of conversation, building even more anticipation. If High School Musical proved anything, it’s that HC Theaterworks is more than ready to deliver another unforgettable show, continuing a tradition of creativity, collaboration, and school pride.
