18th Annual Frida Festival

The Frida Festival is entering its 18th year and originated in the East End of Houston, TX. The 2023 Friday Festival takes place Sat., April 29, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. at MECA and will feature local musicians and performers along with an arts market with a wide range of merchants, vendors, artisans and one-of-a-kind finds. There will also be a Frida look-alike contest for all ages. This year the contest will be facilitated online with an announcement of the winner at the Frida Festival.

The Viva Frida! Art Exhibition is on view through April 30. The exhibition is held at MECA East End at TBH, 333 S Jensen Dr., Houston TX 77003, showcasing contemporary artists from across Texas who have been influenced by Frida’s work. The goal of the exhibit would be to provide visitors with a deeper understanding of Frida Kahlo’s art, life, and cultural impact, and to inspire them to continue exploring and appreciating her work.
