2nd Annual Inner City Toy Crawl Christmas 2019

DePelchin Children’s Center

Jeep owners will convoy from River Oaks Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram to DePelchin Children’s Center with gifts on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at noon. The caravan will arrive at DePelchin’s Donation Station located at 200 Sandman with wrapped gifts for the organization’s annual Holiday Project.

Prior to the delivery of gifts, there will be a wrapping party hosted by Alan Helfman and Blake Helfman on behalf of River Oaks Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram. The dealership participated in a toy drive which will provide gifts and additional support.

The event is founded by Jeep enthusiasts Mitch and Norma Jessip with Jeep 4Wheel Adventures and Jorge Flores with Houston Inner City Jeeps. The annual event is a joint effort of five local jeep groups: Jeep 4Wheel Adventures, Skyline Jeep Club, Houston Inner City Jeeps, West Side Underground, and Java and Jeeps.

Jeep enthusiasts will be delighted to see three all-new 2020 Jeep Gladiators as part of the caravan. Described as “engineered from the ground up to be a true pickup truck”, the new model has 4x4 capability along with precision-crafted details.

DePelchin’s annual Holiday Project provides gifts and basic needs to the children and families utilizing DePelchin Children's Center services. In 2018, more than 1,300 children served by our Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and Lubbock offices received holiday gifts fulfilled by donors. Support from groups like the Jeep community is a vital part of reaching the number of gifts needed. Each child lists two wants and one need for their wish list.

DePelchin Children’s Center believes that every child deserves to be safe and healthy. An accredited foster care and adoption agency, DePelchin serves the most vulnerable children and families in Texas and works to break the cycles of abuse and neglect. Our approach to caring for children integrates prevention, foster care, adoption and post-adoption programs to improve the mental health and physical well-being of children who are at risk of entering or are in the State’s child welfare system. Founded in 1892, DePelchin is a nonprofit organization with locations throughout Houston and across Texas.
