Alzheimer's Association "An Evening of HOPE" Gala

Alzheimer's Association Gala

The Alzheimer’s Association Houston & Southeast Texas Chapter will host its inaugural gala “ An Evening of HOPE,” on April 13, 2023, at 7 pm at The Corinthian. This elegant evening is co-chaired by Phoebe Tudor and Kelli Weinzierl, who have championed the cause and are exceptional leaders in the community. The evening will begin with a cocktail reception, followed by a three-course dinner and program, a curated art auction, and exciting musical entertainment.

The gala’s special guest speaker is Maria Shriver, the Founder of the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement and Strategic Advisor on Women’s Health and Alzheimer’s at Cleveland Clinic. She is a trailblazer for empowering women and one of the world’s leading advocates for women and Alzheimer’s.

Guests will also hear from Queen Sofía of Spain, who has long advocated for those with Alzheimer’s disease around the world. In addition, Dr. Huda Zoghbi, a world-renowned neuroscientist with the Duncan Neurological Research Institute, whose work has led to key discoveries in neurodegenerative diseases, will share an inspirational update about her research.

The mission speaker is Dr. Laura Baker of the Wake Forest School of Medicine. She will give the guests hope that they can possibly control Alzheimer’s disease risk factors as she discusses her latest research about nutrition and exercise as strategies to preserve cognition during aging, and the groundbreaking US POINTER study happening right here in Houston.

The inaugural Alzheimer’s Association HOPE Gala will bring together influential and respected corporate, civic, and philanthropic leaders to lead the fight against Alzheimer's disease.
