American Cancer Society's Corks & Forks Gala

The American Cancer Society is partnering with 15 of Houston's top restaurants to create a one-of-a-kind evening featuring a culinary compeition, live music, live and silent auctions and more. Participants will be treated to food and wine pairings tfrom local favorites such as Steak 48, Amalfi Ristorante and Bar, Ristorante Cavour at Hotel Granduca, Toulouse, La Table, Brennan's Houston, Uchi, Liberty Kitchen and Oysterette, Verdine, Ouzo Bay, Le Colonial, Ninfa's on Navigation, Frank's Americana Revival, Caco and Cardamom Chocolatier, Tea and Coffee America and Bisou. 

The event also highlights influential members of the community who have been affected by cancer. This year, they have selected Shelby Hodge and Shafik Rifaat as the event's honorees. Shelby serves as the Social and Lifestyle Editor at PaperCity Magazine. Shafik Rifaat has been Shelby's rock throughout her recovery process. Rifaat serves as a Professor of Architecture and Urban Design at The University of Houston.
