Apollo 11 55th Anniversary

Celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing with Space Center Houston this Saturday. Visitors can experience the legacy of the first lunar landing among an array of significant Apollo 11 artifacts and learning experiences.

11:30 am – 3:00 pm:  Apollo 11 55th Anniversary Presentations
3:00 pm:  Moon Landing Recreation

They will be hosting a panel discussion from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on what it was like to be in Mission Control for the Apollo 11 Mission, featuring the decision-makers in Mission Control during this event. The panel will include:

  • Gene Kranz, Flight Director
  • Tom Hanchett, Integrated Communications Officer (INCO)
  • Ed Fendell, Integrated Communications Officer (INCO)
  • Spencer Gardner, Flight Activities Director (FAO)

Other activities:

  • Featured film Apollo 11: First Steps Edition
  • Special NASA Tram Tours featuring the Historic Mission Control center
