Asia Society Texas (AST) celebrates the Lunar New Year with a free all-ages festival! Ring in the Year of the Snake — an elegant symbol of wisdom, intuition, and transformation — with performances, arts and crafts, and food inspired by Lunar New Year traditions across Asia. The free event includes a variety of fun activities including two lion dances, a Lucky Lunar Mission, food and shopping, and ticketed music and dance performances by Huaxing Arts Group. Spring Festival: Splendor of Huaxing performances at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. are ticketed: $12 (35% discount for AST members).

Schedule of Events: 
Lion Dances (FREE): 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Presented by Houston Shaolin Kung Fu Academy and Vien Thong Tu Lion Dance, the performances will take place outdoors on AST’s Festival Lawn. Free and open to all guests.

Spring Festival: Splendor of Huaxing (Ticketed): 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
Tickets: $12 (35% Discount for AST Members)
Presented by the Huaxing Arts Group, performances will take place in the Brown Foundation Theater and feature a variety of vibrant Chinese music and dance.

Activities include: 

  • Chinese calligraphy
  • Lunar New Year zodiac games
  • Free exhibition admission to Space City: Art in the Age of Artemis
  • Lucky Lunar Mission activities and demonstrations with community partners
