Asia Society Texas' Night Market
Asia Society Texas' popular Night Market festival returns on Friday, November 7, 6–10 p.m. Featuring 80+ local AAPI-owned small businesses, performers, and community partners, the annual street festival celebrates the vibrant diversity of Houston’s Asian American communities through an exciting night of culinary delights and interactive fun for all ages.
For its biggest night of the year, AST will transform its parking lot, front lawn, and one block of Southmore Boulevard into a free outdoor market bustling with local retail and food vendors, live dance performances, and Japanese carnival activities. In addition to shopping and eating locally, guests of all ages can look forward to an all-access beer garden, Karaoke Korner, a Chinese lantern display previewing Houston Botanic Garden’s upcoming Radiant Nature installation, and live dance performances by South Seas Productions, UH Modern, Kajal Desai Dance, and University of St. Thomas Filipino Student Association.
Inside AST’s Center, guests will enjoy after-hours access to The House of Pikachu: Art, Anime, and Pop Culture exhibition, an artists’ alley featuring select vendors, a manga café, mahjong, and more. Shōgeki Sumo will take the stage for ticketed sumo wrestling demonstrations at three different times over the course of the evening.
