AVDA’s 2022 Honoring Texas Victims Dinner

AVDA’s 2022 Honoring Texas Victims Dinner takes place Tues., Oct. 11 at Tony's. Event Chairs Paula and Steve Winter & Lisa and Eric Elder have conceptualized an evening to pay tribute to the 228 victims who lost their lives as a result of domestic violence in 2020. Supporters will dine on a four-course meal created for the event by Executive Chef Kate McLean, featuring the renowned Italian inspired cuisine that Houston has come to love for more than 55 years, with wine pairings selected by Houston Wine Merchant Manager and AVDA Board member Sommelier Antonio Gianola. Gloria Terry, CEO for the Texas Council on Family Violence, will share some of the 2021 Honoring Texas Victims Report at the dinner. In addition to funds raised through table sponsorships, there will be a live auction and donation appeal.

A United Way funded partner, AVDA provides free counseling and legal representation (protective orders, divorce, child custody, child support and adoption in cases of parent fatality) for domestic abuse survivors in Austin, Grimes, Harris, Fort Bend, Waller and Washington counties. AVDA’s Battering and Intervention Program serves abusers in Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris and Montgomery counties, and its educational programming for youth and adults aims to prevent abuse by focusing on healthy relationships across the Greater Houston area.

Underwriting levels range from $25,000 to $5,000 and include a table, four-course dinner and wine pairings. For more information, please contact AVDA Director of Development Hannah Richard-Molina at [email protected].
