Bellaire Recycles Fest

The Bellaire Environmental and Sustainability Board is excited to host the 7th annual Bellaire Recycles Fest on Saturday, Nov. 7, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at 7008 South Rice Blvd (near City Hall). It is being held in conjunction with America Recycles Day, an annual campaign to raise awareness and educate citizens on the economic, social, and environmental benefits of reducing, reusing, and recycling. It will feature kids’ activities, educational information, and local businesses to promote local and “green” eco-friendly goods and services. Don't miss the Recycled Art and Photo Contest, open to Pre-K to Grade 12!

Also on hand will be organizations collecting items for reuse/recycling such as JD Metals, collecting scrap metal and car batteries, Data Shredding for secure paper recycling, and CompuCycle to collect electronics for recycling. American Textile Recycling Service will be collecting unwanted clothing/material for recycling.

The Board continues to seek businesses and organizations interested in participating in the event. Non-profit organizations and local businesses or companies wishing to showcase eco-friendly products or services at the event are welcome to discuss having a booth at the event. Volunteers to help staff the event are also needed. Please contact Jane McNeel or Jon Palmer with the Bellaire Environmental and Sustainability Board at [email protected] for more information.
