Breakfast and Books with Dave Ward
Breakfast is Dave’s favorite meal, Houston is his favorite city, and there’s nothing he loves more than watching our local teams. Buy a book and get it signed by Dave himself while enjoying a Dave Ward winning combo: talking Houston Rockets Basketball over breakfast.
It’s been 25 years since the Rockets came back against all odds to beat the Knicks in Game 7 of the NBA Finals and win Houston’s first-ever championship by a major sports franchise (that still exists). Dave and his friend Don Nelson watched and reported on the series from the newsroom. In fact, one of them ended up with a shaved head. The Houston Rockets won the NBA Championship again in 1995 and forever changed our city’s nickname from “Choke” to “Clutch.”
Join Dave Ward as he sits down with Don Nelson and Mario Elie, (other team members TBD), to reminisce about the series that led to Houston’s first championship team with the “heart of a champion."
