Chamber Music Academy & Composer Institute Spring Recital

AFA presents a Chamber Music Academy & Composer Institute Spring Recital Saturday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at MECA. AFA's Chamber Music Academy students perform well-known pieces for piano trios and string quartets. Also featuring the premiere of new chamber works written by AFA Composer Institute students! Presented in collaboration with the Da Camera of Houston Young Artists Program.

AFA is changing the way young musicians learn their craft! The Da Camera of Houston Young Artists are emerging professionals who hold degrees from the nation’s top conservatories and represent the best of the next generation of performers. Our philosophy is based on more than instrument instruction and technical mastery, it includes music theory, performance practice, public speaking, and interaction with audiences. The program is open to pianists, string, woodwind and brass players with at least one to two years of experience.
