Spring into action and celebrate the world during Children's Museum of Houston's Earth Day Bash. Discover ways to make a difference, and practice protecting the planet we call home.
Special events include:
- Trees for Houston: Free trees! Don’t miss out on tree sampling giveaways. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Museum Entrance (until we run out)
- Water Purification Demo: Check out how UH Engineers purify water using light. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Allen Family Courtyard.
- Water Filtration Demo: Witness how nanoparticles absorb water impurities in a demo by UH Engineers.10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Allen Family Courtyard.
- Skins and Skulls: Texas Wildlife Association will bring samples for you to experience a touch of wildlife. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Kids’ Hall.
Ongoing activities include:
- Spark of Life!: Explore your body’s conductivity and become part of a battery at Science Station.
- Recycled Gardens: Repurpose materials to design a garden collage at Alexander Art Academy.
- Recycled Birdfeeder: Don’t throw away that cup. Make it into a bird feeder at EcoStation.
- Leaf Typing Leaflet: Make a leaf guide and use it to learn about what is growing at EcoStation.
- DNA Extraction: Learn about DNA and extract it from strawberries at Power Science Lab
