Cinderella Tea
Leave your glass slippers at home and join Hotel Granduca for a special afternoon tea experience to benefit The Houston Ballet's production of Cinderella on Sunday, March 5 and 12. Hosted in partnership with the renowned ballet company, the hotel's Cinderella Tea will be a treat for all ages - and for the city's local arts patrons - with a portion of the prix fixe menu for each guest donated to the upcoming production.
Scheduled for six performances at the Brown Theater at Wortham Center, Cinderella is among The Houston Ballet's most widely viewed productions. The performance is acclaimed for putting a modern-day twist on an original classic and exciting audiences with eccentric characters.
During Hotel Granduca Houston's Cinderella Tea, enjoy Executive Chef Enrico Glaudo's inspiring selection of savory delights and classic sweets with bespoke menus for children and adults. "The Prince's Royal Bill of Fare" will tempt the latter with bite-sized gourmet treats, such as Chicken Curry Salad with Caramelized Walnut, Quail Egg Salad with Asparagus Tip, and Smoked Salmon Tartar Puffs. Grownups can then delight in "Cinderella's Cakes and Confections" and "The King's Preferred Potions," which includes a palate-warming selection of Mighty Leaf Specialty Teas and a complimentary glass of Chilled Prosecco.
Chef Glaudo will excite youngsters with "Cinderella's Tasty Treats," including Mascarpone with Nutella, Tuna Salad Sandwich, and Crudités of Celery Sticks and Peanut Butter. The menu also features "Dandini's Dessert Delights," such as Freshly Baked Scones with Devonshire Clotted Cream and Tip Tree English Jams. Kids will also quench their thirst with "Buttons' Best Beverages," including Warm Apple or Cranberry Cider and an assortment of hot teas and cold juices.
A donation to Houston Ballet's new production of Cinderella will be made at $10 for every adult purchase and $7 for every child purchase. Valet parking is complimentary. For reservations, call 713-418-1004.
