Crime Stoppers of Houston's Annual Awards Luncheon
Crime Stoppers of Houston will host its annual Houston’s Heroes Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the Royal Sonesta Houston Hotel to honor outstanding individuals and organizations who have given exemplary service to make Houston a safer place to live, work, learn and play. The Presenting Sponsor of the event includes Aramco Services Company, along with Safety Partners Phillips 66 and Russell and Glenda Gordy, all of whom align themselves with the organization’s mission to solve and prevent serious crime in the Greater Houston Area.
Each December through early January, the community has the opportunity to submit their Houston Hero nominations of those who have gone above and beyond to make our communities safer. Crime Stoppers will honor the following 2019 Houston Heroes honorees:
- The Corporate Citizen Award - Phillips 66
- The Fenner Weller Award - Glenda and Russell Gordy
- The Johnny Klevenhagen Award - The Harris County Violent Crime Unit & The DPS Texas Anti-Gang Center Violent Crime Unit
- The Leiv Platou Award - Michael D. Wilson
- The Safe School Award - Commissioner R. Jack Cagle and Harris County Commissioners Court
Crime Stoppers will add three new awards this year, one of which will be revealed for the first time at the luncheon:
- Partner of the Year Award – Houston Police Department, Chief Art Acevedo and Assistant Chief Bobby Dobbins
- The Women Who Shape Houston Award - The Houston 20
- The Dave Ward Media Excellence Award – The inaugural winner will be kept a secret and not revealed until the day of the luncheon on April 24!
